Materials

Monday, Mar 14th

We will be putting out a call to the whole AWS community to help donate building materials. This could be used or reclaimed, scraps or leftover lengths.

For instance, I will be dismantling our half-pipe to reclaim as much of the plywood and and 2x4s as possible.

What we can not salvage and scavenge, we will need to buy.

The following is an initial estimate of materials for the outdoor design. An updated list will follow shortly.

  • 62x+ 8ft 2x4s or equivalent for legs, structure and railings
  • 7x 3/4" 4x8ft sheets of plywood or OSB
  • 8x 3/8" 4x8ft sheets of plywood or OSB
  • ~20x 4+ft lengths of 2x2s for railings
  • ~100x 4+ft lengths of one-by for cross bracing
  • ~6x 1/8" 4x8ft sheets of luaun (door skin) plywood

  • The stage left curved ramp that merges with the stairs at a landing
  • An off stage platform to access the landing through the backdrop, with either stairs or a ladder to get to it.
  • A tunnel entrance runs underneath the ramp's straight away, with steps to approach the stage
  • The backdrop is made from 3x 12ft x 15ft dyed canvas hung from EMT conduit.
